Ok you bloggers...I was about to post a picture of my family, but here are the questions...what if they don't want their picture in my blog? What if I violate their right to privacy??!!
Can someone use my blog to hurt me?
Somebody ....please calm my fears!

  1. If someone has requested that you not post their picture, it's probably polite to, you know... not post the picture ;-). Other than that you should be good. It's probably good not to post full names of each person in a picture.

Also, assuming you won't be revealing government secrets, your blog probably won't lead to pain and suffering. There are so many blogs out there in the blogosphere that a family-type one such as this will blend into the ether.

I've been blogging for years now (multiple blogs with multiple levels of anonymity, from my full name, to pseudonyms where I've taken steps to remain anonymous, to somewhere in between) and it's been a very positive experience. Except for one federal investigation one blog triggered.... That was bad. But that was so bizarre that I can't imagine the situation ever repeating itself anywhere on the planet. It's a good story; I'll have to tell you about it sometime, but not online.

  2. If you want to you can go private and only have your family and friends view your blog. Everyone will have to send you an e-mail s you can add them but that keeps random people from viewing your blog.

  4. speaking of random people viewing your blog...hi. :)

you don't have to actually make your blog 'private' (requiring a sign in by viewers). I found your blog though your profile, which I found because you left a comment on Dawn's blog. To limit that ability go to the "Settings" tab (next to posting), then under 'basic,' select 'no' for both "Add your blog to our listings?" and "Let search engines find your blog?". You can also choose if you want your blog listed on your profile. To edit that go to 'Dashboard', 'edit profile' and click the link to select which (if any) blogs you want to display. If you want to keep your profile unaccessable, while still in 'edit profile' uncheck 'share my profile.' Those measures will keep any new 'blog-stalkers' from finding your blog, but anyone who knows the address of your blog will be able see it.
